Another key component of helping to maintain your pet’s health and happiness is having them on reliable, consistent heartworm preventative.
Heartworm disease is serious and potentially fatal to our dogs and cats. Heartworms are spread by mosquito bites and can grow up to a foot long, living in the heart and lungs of our beloved pets.
Unless you intend to breed, we recommend having pets spayed or neutered. Pets that have been spayed or neutered tend to live longer and have healthier lives.
Regular wellness exams allow us to catch underlying health problems early, provide consistent preventative care, and support your pet’s overall health and well-being.
It's hard to provide care without knowing the root of what is ailing your pet, which is why diagnostic testing is so important. Diagnostic testing can include laboratory testing (blood, urine, and fecal) and diagnostic imaging like X–rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
Our veterinarians are skilled in diagnosing common problems that affect our pets like vomiting, itching, lumps, limping, and more.
From routine cleanings to tooth extractions, the Thrive Pet Healthcare network of Primary Care veterinarians and Dental Specialists is here to keep your pet's smile fresh! Our general practices can take care of everyday dental maintenance with outstanding regular check-ins, cleanings, and basic surgeries.
Meanwhile, our specialty veterinarians are prepared to handle more complex or chronic dental cases like a root abscess, jaw fracture, abnormal tooth formation, or advanced periodontal disease. These doctors are highly trained within the field of veterinary dentistry and have access to specialized equipment, typically unavailable at primary care clinics.
Vaccines are essential for preventive care and can increase the chances of a longer, happier life for pets. Ensuring that pets are consistently up to date with their vaccinations can help prevent contracting disease or help lessen the severity of symptoms if a disease is contracted.
Fleas can cause itchy skin, skin infections, and spread tapeworms. Ticks can carry disease such as Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis, and more.
We will be by your side during this time of need to offer both medical assistance and emotional support.
The occasional taps, scrapes, and scratches that happen when playing with your pet means it's time for a trip to your local veterinarian or boarding facility! Trimming your pet's nails is a healthy part of their life, and can lead to greater comfort in everyday activity.

Dr. Wolf practiced small animal medicine in Michigan before relocating to the Seattle area in 2007. She has a broad range of experience including general medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Wolf is a native of Germany and speaks fluent German. She has multiple fur children including a cat, a Standard wire-haired Dachshund, a Standard Poodle, and a bunny. She also has three human children. She enjoys the Sounders and the Seahawks. In her free time, she loves to read, paint, and create things.

Dr. Phillips joined the Lien Animal Clinic team in August of 2021. He earned his DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison, WI where he grew up and where most of his family still resides. He also holds a BS in Biology from the same university.
Dr. Phillips has always been interested in the science and medical fields. Working as a veterinary assistant during his undergrad studies solidified his interest in working with animals. He always had both cats and dogs while growing up and enjoys seeing the joy that the human-animal bond brings.
He recently moved to West Seattle, WA from Madison, WI with his fiancée, Abbey, and they are loving the beautiful scenery and vast array of outdoor experiences to enjoy in their new area. In his spare time you can find him outdoors doing anything from running, to hiking, to biking, or playing soccer. He’d love to go to Banff National Park in Canada someday to camp and hike. He also enjoys reading, cooking, baking, playing board games, and spending time with his cat Charlie whom he adopted from the humane society before beginning vet school. His baking specialty is banana bread, and as far as reading goes – he loves Sci-Fi and non-fiction the most.

Dr. Wood joined Lien Animal Clinic in October 2022. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She completed her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee in 2021. As Southern California natives, she and her husband missed the west coast (the best coast!) and decided to put down roots in gorgeous West Seattle.
Dr. Wood has a special interest in internal medicine, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and senior pet care. She has a passion for “fear free” handling and prioritizing the human-animal bond between owners and their pets. She looks forward to building life-long relationships with her patients and helping owners provide the best life possible for their furry friends!
In her free time, Dr. Wood enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, running, and reading. She also enjoys trying new local restaurants/breweries, remodeling her 1950s home, and hosting her friends and family. On the average weekend, you can find her at a local park with her husband, Jacob, and goofy mutt, Skippy, with coffee and donuts in hand.
