Lien Animal Clinic is now offering remote healthcare services with TeleVet! With the TeleVet mobile app you can easily send virtual consultation requests to us whenever your pet is sick or injured.
To get started, download the TeleVet app on the iTunes or Google Play store and create your personal profile and your pets (pictures encouraged!). When you need us, create a consultation request detailing your pet’s issue. Upload any pictures or videos, instant message, and talk with us face to face through a video conference call to help get your pet feeling better again. We look forward to talking with you soon.

Virtual visits are best suited for the following types of consultations:
- Mild symptoms such as sneezing or coughing
- Behavioral issues
- Complex treatment plan discussions
- Hospice care
If your pet is experiencing more severe symptoms, we may not be able to diagnose your pet without physically examining them or performing supplementary diagnostics in the hospital. If your pet is experiencing vomiting, lethargy, diarrhea, respiratory distress, or has a laceration or wound, please contact us for an in-clinic physical exam right away.
This service is not suitable for emergency situations.

Why is Lien Animal Clinic offering virtual visits?
Our goal is to continue to provide our high standard of veterinary care in new ways that can be more convenient for clients living in a busy world. Virtual visits are not about completely replacing visits to the clinic. They're about complementing clinic services and establishing a means to monitor patients and communicate with clients using modern telecommunication tools. Clients are always welcome to schedule an appointment in the clinic, but we hope that our clients will appreciate the flexibility of a virtual visit consultation when appropriate.
What is the TeleVet app?
TeleVet is a mobile application that connects veterinarians to their existing patients through secure text, call, or video.
When will my credit card be charged?
Some problems take minutes to resolve, while others might take a few days of messaging and sending pictures. Your card will not be charged for your virtual visit until the consultation has been reviewed and resolved by your veterinarian. If you see a pending charge on your account prior to the consultation being resolved, please know it will not go through until your veterinarian resolves and closes the consultation.
What if my pet’s problem cannot be fixed via the virtual consultation and results in me having to schedule an office visit for a physical exam?
If you start with a virtual visit consultation and end up with the doctor requesting a follow-up physical exam to solve the problem, the doctor will communicate the next steps with you, based on his or her findings. Your veterinarian will discuss your pet's exam costs with you and may make price adjustments on a case by case basis. Our goal is to provide the best care for your pet, and to provide convenient and cost-effective options for you, our client.
If my pet has not been examined within the last year, can I use the app?
Our doctors will not legally be able to prescribe medications until they have performed an annual physical exam on your pet. The American Veterinary Medical Association explains that given the current state of technological capabilities, available research, and the current state and federal regulatory landscape, the AVMA believes that veterinary telemedicine should only be conducted within an existing Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR). Most states and the AVMA’s Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics require a VCPR for a veterinarian to diagnose, prescribe medication or otherwise treat an animal. This requires us to have examined your pet within the last year.
If I am not a client at Lien Animal Clinic, can I use the app?
We need to first establish physical care for your pet in our clinic before we will be able to provide virtual visits through the TeleVet app. We would love to meet you!
When can I use the app?
The TeleVet app is not for emergencies, so please do not submit a request for an urgent or severe medical issue. Once you submit a consult request for your pet, your virtual visit will be assigned to a doctor during his or her next allotted time for virtual visits. Virtual visits take place on a limited basis during our regular office hours. You will be provided with a time range on a particular day, during which you will be contacted by a veterinarian.
